friday

This is where most of our time is spent, In Little Owls room, getting to know each other, reading,  changing the two babies bottoms! feeding and helping him enter dreamland.

The hub of the home is no longer the kitchen - nothing much gets done in there these days except pulling meals from the freezer which we received from the wonderful folk in our community. I have been blown away and ever so grateful, for their generous, thoughtful and YUMMY gifts. One thing I am learning is to be humble when help is offered. With my first baby I wanted to do it all, however now I need help, and I am not afraid to ask for it. As my Doula said to me it takes a lot of strength to do so.

p.s on the help front - good on you for accepting it, and asking for it,....and better still if you are receiving it. I am learning the hard lesson of asking for it. I find it incredibly hard to do...

I completely agree about accepting help. I always like to do things myself and feel I should be able to, it takes great effort to accept graciously, but I learned that after my second child. I'm glad to hear you're getting so many offers of support, they all make the journey a little easier. PS he's delightful.

What a pretty room for a pretty boy!
Oh, when my third one is born, the world went upside down. But we made it, now it is easier. Good for you to take it as easy as possible. And in a pretty surrounding is even better.
It takes some strength, but you have it!

These are times that make us humble, and appreciate the very small things in life. Like hanging the laundry, or making a meal are great accomplishments in your day. Thankfully it does eventually work its way out, and in our times a lot is expected of mothers, and it can make us feel inadequate. This is such a negative vibe that none of us need. Accept all the help you have offered to you as it makes everyone feel good. You can offer it in time to someone else, and it is a wonderful feeling to be able to be helpful in a real and meaningful way. Your little family is beautiful, and you will feel on track in time. Bringing new little people into the world is an intense and all consuming job, some days we are better at it than others, and that's okay. All my best wishes to you and your nest.

I adore E's little space and that quilt - wow, you've done so well with all those bold colours - they balance beautifully. Apple Papple is at the framers at the moment, can't wait to hang it in Poet's room.

Go gently Kathryn, it's the only thing you can do in those first few months. Savour it x
