wednesday

While the rest of the house is in a crazed state of madness, getting ready to be out the door by 8.30am for school drop off. LO my gentle, quiet, content little boy loves to simply watch the morning sun reflect the palm leaves onto our bedroom wall. Oh how I wish I could stop time and watch the glistening patterns change places and shapes too.

I do find joy and contentment in seeing him so mesmerized and in a simple state of peace. I should need to learn again  about just being in the moment. It comes so easily to babies and children. Why and how do we loose this ability as we age?

Oh how gorgeous! He looks very at peace. I often wish I could be more 'in the moment' too. I think babies and children can so easily do this because they have no major worries and all their needs are met. With adulthood comes responsibility. I admire people who seem to have a healthy balance. Mine always seems to be way out of kilter!

A wonderful reminder to take a breath to enjoy the simplest joys once in a while. Just as you did in capturing this beautiful, quiet moment :-)

Beautiful. And how tidy is your bed for someone with three small children including newborn? Impressive!

It is very true indeed that our children are our greatest teachers. Such beautiful photos.

Absolutely gorgeous photos. Reminds me of the simple times I spent with my kids when they were young. Oh for those days again! I hope you can leave your chores and take the time to enjoy these moments with him.
This reminds me of a beautiful saying I kept (and reread many times over the years) when my first born son was young. I'll post it on my blog berryredstitches.typepad.com

Precious. Taking time for our own life is so challenging some days hey. Go ahead, lie down with
him and see what he's seeing. I would love to turn back time (just for a whole day) to when mine were small. Jx
